Dewey VanDenBerg began in the home furnishings business in 1937 as a partner in the VanDenBerg Brothers Furniture Company. He transitioned from the furniture business to the flooring business in 1959 by purchasing Migala Carpet Center. In 1972, he sold the company to his son, Jack VanDenBerg. By 1975, Migala Carpet Center had grown to three stores: Kalamazoo, Portage and Battle Creek.
In 1985, Migala Carpet Center joined the Carpet One Co-op which started in 1984 with just a handful of dealers. Carpet One has grown to over 1000 stores worldwide. Carpet One supports Migala Carpet One and its members with tremendous buying power, quality products, extensive warranties, continuous training and superior installation standards.
The third generation, Lori Ruimveld and Vicki VanDenBerg, now own and operate Migala Carpet One. Our mission continues to provide beautiful flooring, installation excellence and superior customer service to our customers.
